8-Channel Active Receiver Power Splitter for 1575 MHz

  • Receiver power splitter for 1575 MHz with built-in high-dynamic-range low-noise amplifier.

DESCRIPTION

  • To be used where GPS signals are to be divided:
    • Divider with loss compensation for up to eight PCPI GPS EXTEND antennas connected to the same GPS antenna.
    • General GPS antenna signal distribution systems.
  • Built-in band-pass filter to attenuate unwanted signals and filter the distributed GPS signal.
  • High isolation between outputs.
  • N-female on all ports (other connector types on request).
  • Wide supply voltage range.
  • DC powering either on solder terminal or from phantom voltage on the signal distribution line.
  • Several DC powering options via the signal line available:
    • 5 VDC voltage on input port for DC powering an active GPS antenna.
    • Supply voltage on input port.
    • Supply voltage on all output ports or on output port 1 only.

On units where supply voltage is present on both input and output ports, direct DC pass between the ports is provided.

5 V on the input port is for DC powering an active GPS antenna only.

Application Example 1. Phantom powering an external unit from the input port.

Example of a GPS signal distribution system with a GPS 4 and eight GPS receivers, where a PRO-ARPS-8-GPS-N-5VI is used as active receiver power splitter. The GPS 4 antenna is phantom-powered from the 5 VDC voltage on the input port.

 

Application Example 2. Phantom powering external units from both input and output ports.

Example of a GPS repeater system with a GPS 4 and eight x PCPI GPS EXTEND 12V/12V antennas where a PRO-ARPS8-GPS-N-5VI-DCO is used as active receiver power splitter and at the same time (phantom) powers both the GPS 4 antenna and the eight PCPI GPS EXTEND antennas via the signal lines.

The PRO-ARPS8-GPS-N-5VI-DCO has 5 VDC available on the input port and the 12 VDC supply voltage is present on the eight output ports.

The GPS 4 antenna is phantom-powered from the 5 VDC voltage on the input port. The eight PCPI GPS EXTEND antennas are phantom-powered from the 12 VDC voltage on the 8 output ports.

Please note:

The total current consumption in this example is about 1 A. The Procom AC/DC adaptor is only 0.5 A and cannot be used in this example.
